At the expert review meeting of “the second batch of China’s top 20 die-casting mold manufacturing enterprises with comprehensive strength” organized by the China Foundry Association in 2019, 10 enterprises in Beilun District were selected, accounting for “half of the list”, and many companies won the title of “growth star”.
In recent years, relying on the advantages of industrial agglomeration, Beilun Mold has vigorously improved the research and development level of “intelligent” manufacturing, and has established a new brand of “Digital Beilun” nationwide. Behind the advantages of industrial agglomeration are production enterprises that strive for excellence and grow rapidly.
It is reported that there are currently over 1700 mold and related enterprises in Beilun, with over 40000 employees. More than 500 mold enterprises have passed various quality system certifications.
The Beilun die-casting mold industry started in the mid-1960s. From the late 1970s to the 1980s, the private economy flourished, and a large number of young people engaged in mold related industries emerged in Qinglin Village, Beilun District. Handmade workshops based on villages were established, and the products were sold to Shanghai, Suzhou and other places, bringing considerable economic benefits to local villagers. Subsequently, the die-casting mold related industry in Beilun blossomed everywhere, and hardworking and intelligent Beilun people followed the example of Qinglin Village to establish die-casting mold factories, automobile parts factories, and so on. A hundred schools of thought contend, a hundred flowers compete, and at the same time, cooperate with each other, gradually maturing the industry’s technology and management level.
In the early 21st century, the government promoted the standardized development of industrial agglomeration through policy guidance. In 2005, the Party Committee and government of Daqi Street issued policies to officially guide a group of mold factories to move into industrial parks. The Beilun mold enterprise entered the industrial park from a village, and the Beilun die-casting mold industry bid farewell to the manual workshop model and entered the era of standardization, process oriented, and industrial manufacturing.
In 2012, the construction of Daqi High end Mold and Auto Parts Industrial Park officially began, with a group of high-quality mold and auto parts enterprises settling in one after another. At this time, the Beilun Die Casting Mold Industry Park has become a Chinese die casting mold industry base and a national die casting mold standardization demonstration base. The Beilun die-casting mold industry ranks among the top in the country in terms of scale, output, technological development ability, management level, economic and social benefits, market influence, and other aspects, and has entered the world-class brand supply chain, achieving remarkable results in the international market.
At the same time, the mold industry is gradually entering a new era of intelligent manufacturing, with a focus on extending and improving the industrial chain. Focusing on leading industries such as die-casting molds, precision die-casting, new energy vehicles, and automotive parts, we are striving to create a public service platform that integrates research and development, management, testing, trading, finance, and other industries. We are accelerating the gathering of high-tech and high growth mold and automotive parts enterprises to the base, Promote the coordinated development of related industries such as molds and automotive parts.
At present, Beilun die-casting molds have entered the international stage. The customers of the Beilun die-casting mold industry not only include large domestic brand enterprises such as Volkswagen, FAW, Haier, but also world-renowned enterprises such as international Daiko, Flanner, Tesla, Bosch, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, etc. Their products are exported to Europe, America, Oceania, and other countries. The area has over 1700 various mold and related enterprises, with over 40000 employees. More than 500 mold enterprises have passed various quality system certifications. In 2017, the production of die-casting molds in Beilun accounted for over 50% of the national total, with a casting industry output value of approximately 68.6 billion yuan.
The rapid development of Beilun die-casting molds has driven the rapid development of die-casting products, and 70% of die-casting molds and die-casting products are used in the automotive field. In addition to supplying domestic Volkswagen, FAW, SAIC, GM, Toyota, Ford, Haier and other enterprises, it also provides die-casting molds and die-casting parts for Tesla, Bosch, Siemens, TRW, German Bell, Philips, Samsung, LG, Panasonic and other world famous enterprises. The Beilun die-casting mold enterprise has registered the first collective trademark “Beilun Mold” in the mold industry in China, which has significant influence both domestically and internationally.
